It is a film about loss and the feeling of letting go. Thomas and Timothy are the missing protagonists of this drama about parents coming to terms with the fact their marriage is over. In a last attempt to revive the loss of their children, Ted hires Eddy as his summer assistant. A reputable novelist who lives a miserable existence distances himself from it through writing and sketching women.
Marion, on the other hand, seems to be lost in a train of thought that no one is sure about. The last breath of fresh air is brought in by Eddy who easily finds himself at home and becomes Marion's lover. A triangle then appears and the tensions between Eddy and Ted become stronger leading to the inevitable end. A film about loss and the sufferers who never recover but struggle to including bringing a new child to their lives.
